A-Z Blogging Challenge Day 21: U is for Umbrella


I love the lyrics to Rhianna's song "Umbrella".


When the sun shines, we'll shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be a friend
Took an oath, I'm a stick it out till the end

Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that we'll still have each other
You can stand under my umbrella

Is that not the perfect definition of marriage???

When it's fun and sunny and things are going great, you're together and taking it all in, enjoying it all, basking in the glow. But when the bad stuff comes, and it does, it always does, you need to be able to stick together and get through it, together.

    Awww, that's so sweet. We have yet to experience a real tragedy. I'd like to think that we'll get through it fine. Still a young couple. :)

    Unfortunately, we've had our share of tragedy and we were young. My father in law was in a major car accident 6 weeks before our wedding. He was in a coma for months and died 6 months after the accident...he was only 46. We were 23 and 21 at the time. It's been 12 years since his death and still it affects my husband. I often think about him to and wonder what our lives would be like...how different they would be if he had survived.

    And then the bad just kept coming.....we attended 4-5 funerals within a two year span all for young people.
