A-Z Blogging Challenge Day 11: K is for Kite
This post kinda coordinates with yesterdays post. I mentioned how fun Western NY is in the summer...there is always somehting going on!!
And one of those things is the Kite Festival. I discovered it a few years back. The first time I took my daughter and went with my mom and dad. I had no clue what it was actually going to be like and it completely blew my mind. Huge kites, small kites, character kites...you name it, it was there. A. MAZ. ING.
So beautiful they were wavering in the wind. Some just flew while others did loops and tricks. I could have stood there for hours watching.
My daughter even got to color her own little mini kite and we flew it. So fun!
The next year it was even bigger, with food and other vendors. Hubby had to buy a kite for our daughter :)

Gorgeous Kite....
ReplyDeleteI wrote about kites too. A flash fiction piece.... stop by....
One of my favorite memories of dating my husband is flying kites at the beach in North Carolina!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds awesomely fun! I'd forgotten about the joy of kites until we took one out the other day. My kids LOVED it. It was almost magical. :-)
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing the song from Mary Poppins, Let's Go Fly a Kite. I haven't flown one in years but I have fond memories.
ReplyDeleteI haven't flown a kite in years! In first grade I did win a contest for my kite in art class. It flew the highest. :)
ReplyDeleteThose are some cool kites. I remember flying kites when I was younger and it was so much fun. One of the few advantages of living in a windy state is that there are more chances to fly kites as long as it's not the 40+ winds.
ReplyDeleteI fly a kite with my kids at least once a year. I'm not very good at keeping it in the air, but it does build great memories.
ReplyDeleteI used to love kite flying as a kid :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hopeless at getting a kite in the air, but I do love to watch them once they're up :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by everyone!!! Sometimes we get some good wind in our backyard and can get a kite up! So fun!
ReplyDeleteHow do they keep all the kites from getting tangled together.
ReplyDeleteI really have no idea!!!! It's really something to see!!!!
