Ever consider trying a Raw Diet??

Whenever I think of this diet, I always call to mind the episode from Sex and The City, when they go to the Raw Restaurant. In the end, Samantha wants what's not on the menu...and ends up with their hot waiter in the back room.

But anyway, my good friend Marek is trying the Raw Diet to help find a healthier way of life. Please stop by his blog, Eating Raw Foods, and follow his journey!

  1. Yanno, I was just thinking about a raw diet. I don't think I could ever go completely raw, but I'm considering making one meal a day raw, like a salad for lunch time...

  2. I'm all about making our meals healthier, so I can definitely see myself adding some raw meals in..maybe a few over a two week span (I shop bi weekly). It would definitely be easiest to incorporate them at lunchtime.

  3. Good luck to him. It's definitely not my thing, though. I'm vegetarian and try to eat a balanced diet, but I like some of my food cooked! :-)

  4. That's my first thought too when I hear about the raw diet!

I don't think I could do it, just because I need hot food or it doesn't feel like a filling meal. But I do eat most of my veggies raw, and I hate cooked fruit, so I think essential going raw would mean going vegetarian, and I'm not ready for that, especially since I have to limit my carbs, too.

Good for those who can do it though!

  5. I like cooked foods too much. Oh well.

  6. I think there are some things I can add to our diet that wouldn't really change much. And I like my veggies cooked as little as possible...love `em crispy!

  7. I've looked into the raw diet to see what the hype was-and it's definitely not for me. Many foods actually release their nutritional properties when cooked-so eating them raw isn't doing yourself any service. Secondly, a purely raw food diet can be very hard on the system and digestion. Ya, no. Not for me.
