Do you read each and every comment on your blog???

My blog time is limited so I just cannot read every post every day by every blogger that I follow. I can't imagine anyone does unless you spend your entire day just reading and posting on blogs!!

Some of the blogs I read end up with 40, 50, 100 comments. Holy Cow!!! I cannot imagine having that many comments on one of my posts!!! Yikes!! I love reading what people have to say about my posts and it brings me such joy when people tell me how they feel about my thoughts.

But what if someday I do get 50 comments on one blog post??? I'm not sure if I could physically read that many comments every day.

And the blogs that generate that much of a response...do the bloggers even read the comments????

So bloggers out there...do you read every single comment??? Or once they get to a certain point do you stop???

  1. This post cracks me up! I get quite a few comments on my blog. I not only read them all, I comment back on every single one. And yes, it takes a lot of time. This is why I haven't been posting a lot lately and why my blog reading has gone wayyyy down. I've got a lot of editing to do right now!

Now, if I get over 100 comments all the time (yeah, right!) I might have trouble keeping up...

  2. I read every comment (I love comments)and try to respond to as many as I can, but I only get between 15-30 a day. If it started getting up there in numbers, I would still read each comment, but probably wouldn't have time to individually reply. It'd be a great problem to have though!

  3. Lady Glamis, that is awesome that you reply to every one!!! Huge Kudos to you!!! Whenever I reply to comments, I wonder if the commenter actually checks back to see if I commented!!

I can only hope that one day I have tons and tons of comments! I love love love reading them!!

  4. You BET I read your replies! I simply mark the little box below the word verification that says to email me follow-up comments. That way they come to my in box and I know you've responded. I've got it down to a science, yes I do!

  6. If I ever had that many comments on my blog, I'd fall over. LOL

When I read agent blogs, especially Janet Reid and Nathan Bransford's blogs-50 plus comments, I generally read only a few. People tend to repeat what was commented on already.

  7. I think the key is to be consistent. Let your blog reader know what to expect! I don't sweat it, for example, if I read Nathan Bransford's blog and think it's great and don't comment anyway. He knows a lot of people do that and he gets so many comments. For other blogs, I try to chime in if I know that they expect some sort of response. I try to read all the comments on Literary Lab, but I don't always get the ones that come late at night.

  8. I read every single, because I get them forwarded to my email. And my email is always open at work. It definitely makes the work day more enjoyable!

I've tried sometimes to respond, but I just don't have the time to do it properly, and I wouldn't want to miss someone and then have them feel slighted or left out.

I do try to read all the psots of the (way too many) blogs I follow, and Google Readers is a lifesaver for that. The only drawback is that I can't comment through Reader, so I have to click directly over to the blog in order to comment. Needless to say, my commenting skills have dropped (which also makes me feel a little bad. I don't want people to think I've left them or their blog).

  9. I get them forwarded to my email too--so yes I read every one! I reply sometimes but I'm not as dedicated as Lady Glamis! I try to read most of the blogs on my reading list on week days. I allow myself an hour in the morning (before my kids wake up) to read blogs. But next month (NaNoWriMo) I will be cutting WAY back, so I can have more time to write. Hopefully everyone will still know I love them :)

  10. Right now I get about fifteen to thirty comments, so yes, I read every single one. I'm extremely curious and love seeing what people have to say. Sometimes I read all the comments on other blogs too. :-)
If I got one hundred comments, I have no doubt I'd read them all, but I wouldn't be able to respond to them all, though I'd want to. :-)
